London - European stock markets rose at the start of trading on
Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index increasing 0.15% to 6
899.63 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 advanced 0.33% to 11 317.24
points and the CAC 40 index in Paris gained 0.28% to 4 882.94 compared
with Tuesday's close.
European equities had fallen Tuesday after recent strong gains, with traders sitting tight as the eurozone awaits fresh central bank stimulus.
The European Central Bank will unveil Thursday the details of the bond purchase programme it is embarking on later this month.
