THE Australian dollar is softer against the greenback, which rallied despite weaker-than-expected US economic data.
At 0630 AEST on Friday, the currency was trading at 72.92 US cents, down from 73.01 cents on Thursday.
US gross domestic product expanded at an annual rate of 2.3 per cent in the April-June period, slightly below the consensus estimate of 2.5 per cent.
